Mighty Buildings, a California-based developer of prefabricated single-family housing and accessory dwelling units (ADUs), has raised USD 22 million in an extension to its Series B funding totaling USD 40 million, bringing the company’s total funding to USD 101.8 million. Several new and existing investors including ArcTern Ventures, Core Innovation Capital, Decacorn Capital, Gaingels, and Khosla Ventures participated in the extension round.
The funds will be used for supply chain improvements, to accelerate research and development, and toward the company’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon neutrality by 2028.
The company also plans to introduce multi-story buildings, initially focusing on two to three-story single-family housing and townhouses, with plans to expand into low-rise apartment buildings in the future. The company expects to have at least a prototype multi-story offering by the end of 2022 or early 2023.
