ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-based zero-emission aviation solutions developer, has collaborated with ASL Aviation, an Irish aviation service provider to develop hydrogen-electric engine conversions for aircrafts. ZeroAvia plans to convert up to 10 of ASL’s ATR72 freighter aircrafts.
ZeroAvia has also announced a collaboration with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), an Indian state-owned aviation and defense company, to develop a 19-seater hydrogen-electric powertrain that can fly up to 500 nautical miles. Collaboratively, they plan to develop a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), offering redevelopment for existing Dornier & Hindustan-228 aircraft. The partnership will utilize ZeroAvia ZA600 hydrogen-electric powertrain into the Dornier 228 airframe.
Moreover, ZeroAvia has announced an aircraft and infrastructure financing collaboration with Rose Cay, a real estate and investment provider. Under the partnership, Rose Cay expects to acquire existing aircrafts, deploy ZeroAvia’s hydrogen-electric powertrain system, and lease out to customers. The collaboration also includes a conditional purchase order for up to 250 engines with deliveries planned for 2024.
