Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS), a UK-based agritech company providing vertical farming solutions, has announced partnering with Therme Group (an Austria-based global developer of wellbeing resorts) to co-develop and launch Therme Intelligent Growth Ecosystem (IGE).
The partnership will oversee IGS establishing large-scale vertical farms called Therme IGEs across its wellbeing centers worldwide with zero food miles for the produce. The farms will initially grow kale, rocket, basil, and dill, with plans to be utilized in Therme’s restaurants, bars, and skin products globally.
Therme IGE is developed by integrating IGS’s vertical farming technology with Therme’s culinary and wellbeing expertise. The Therme IGEs are pesticide-free and will utilize 80% less water with 400% increased space efficiency. IGS further claims that IGEs will lessen the development cycle of the crops to 2–3 years from 7–10 years while resulting in higher crop production.
