Conductor raises USD 150 million with a valuation of USD 525 million

Funding

  • Conductor, an enterprise-level search engine optimization (SEO) marketing platform specializing in organic marketing, has raised USD 150 million in a venture funding round led by Bregel Sagemount. Around half of the funds comes from new equity, while the remainder comes from a secondary placement. This round values the company at USD 525 million post-money.

  • The firm plans to invest the additional funding coming from new equity in further developing its SEO marketing platform to provide more accurate marketing insights. The management states that this is aligned with the growing preference for organic marketing over paid marketing; hence, they expect to see a growing demand from content and web marketing teams.

  • The secondary shares are coming from the employee-owners of the firm (employees holding founder-preferred shares issued in the wake of the management buy-out of the company from WeWork in December 2019).
