Upward Farms, a New York-based aquaponic vertical farming company, has announced collaborating with GreenPoint Fish and Lobster (a seafood restaurant and market in Brooklyn) to offer its sustainably raised fish type “hybrid striped bass” to New York consumers for the first time.
Fish is an additional market Upward Farms caters to alongside its vertically produced microgreens. Its hybrid striped bass, which is a combination of two fish categories (striped bass and white bass), is raised sustainably and in a controlled environment at its Brooklyn Farm, without incorporating hormones, antibiotics, or mercury.
Greenpoint Fish and Lobster will become Upward Farms’ first seafood wholesale and retail location to sell fish. The strategic partnership makes Upwards Farm’s entire aquaponic ecosystem of both fish and microgreens available to consumers. Upward Farms also revealed plans to expand its footprint in 2022, targeting consumers on the East Coast.
