ZeroAvia, a hydrogen-based aviation solutions developer, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with De Havilland Canada, an aerospace manufacturer, to develop hydrogen-electric propulsion engines.
The partnership will utilize ZeroAvia’s two-megawatt powertrain (ZA2000) for Dash 8-400 aircraft. The parties, collaboratively, will develop a demonstrator aircraft model for Dash 8-400 aircraft, aiming for certification in 2026.
As part of the agreement, De Havilland Canada will purchase 50 ZeroAvia hydrogen-electric engines for its aircrafts.

Analyst QuickTake: The collaboration follows ZeroAvia’s USD 35 million raise earlier this week. However, the proceeds are to be utilized to develop a 2–5 megawatt powertrain for a larger aircraft.
