Urban Mining Corp. (also known as Umincorp), a Dutch-based plastic recycling company, has raised EUR 15 million (approximately USD 17 million) in a funding round co-led by Invest-NL and Rotterdam Energy Transition Fund.
The fresh funds will be funneled toward developing its new recycled polyethylene tetraphyte (rPET) plastic recycling plant in Rotterdam, the Netherlands to recycle plastic waste from household waste streams. The new plant is expected to be constructed in 2022 and will generate recycled plastic raw materials for plastic producers.
