Google Cloud has acquired the Israel-based security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) startup Siemplify, for an estimated USD 500 million.
Founded in 2015, Siemplify’s SOC platform provides a unified end-to-end security platform that assists security teams to automate threat hunting, detection, and response by integrating existing tools with automated security playbooks. Siemplify’s dynamic modeling approach enables security analysts to prioritize and investigate overlooked threats. The company has a headcount of 200, operates in the US, UK, Israel, and counts several Fortune 500 companies among its customers.
The acquisition will bring SOAR capabilities to Google Cloud’s security portfolio. Siemplify will become a part of the security analytics and threat intelligence platform, Google Cloud Chronicle, to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.

The acquisition comes on the back of Google Cloud’s pledge in August 2021 to invest USD 10 billion in cybersecurity over the next five years. Google Cloud invested USD 50 million in Cybereason in October 2021, and Siemplify marks its first acquisition following the pledge.

Google provides cybersecurity solutions, including security analytics and operations using Chronicle to deliver threat detection and investigation; security and resilience framework that addresses every phase of the cybersecurity lifecycle to protect critical assets; and web app and API protection (WAAP) to protect against threats stemming across web applications and APIs.
