Liteboxer, a developer of a smart and connected punching bag, launched a new virtual reality (VR) boxing application that marks its entrance to the metaverse.
The VR boxing application claims its hand-tracking software enables a real-life boxing-workout experience at home without utilizing dedicated boxing equipment and adds to the Liteboxer’s product offerings via its platform. Its VR service is exclusive to the Meta Quest 2 VR headset and is placed as a standalone product and an added feature for existing subscribers.
Expert-led workouts are offered to subscribers, which enable them to compete directly with each other and in public competitions, featuring in leaderboards.
The system would involve a monthly subscription fee of USD 18.99 for first-time users and will be offered free for existing hardware equipment owners with a membership subscription (USD 29.99).
Analyst QuickTake: Liteboxer’s direct peers or other connected fitness equipment manufacturers have not yet entered the VR space, so we believe this move would give Liteboxer a competitive advantage over its rivals.
