N.THING unveils a complete hybrid vertical modular farm at the CES 2022

Product updates

  • N.THING, a South-Korean hydronic-based vertical farming system provider, unveiled its up-to-date hybrid vertical farming solution “N.THING CUBE”, for the global market via the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, held in Las Vegas.

  • N.THING CUBE is a container-based vertical farm that grows crops hydroponically. The distinctive feature is that these modular farms combine hardware and software and use IoT, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data analytics alongside a dedicated farming operating system to adopt a decentralized vertical system. Thus, the vertical farm system can be set up anywhere regardless of constraints such as climate, location, soil type, and time. Growers can also monitor crops in real-time, adjust lighting and temperature remotely via a computer or mobile device, and gain productivity and profitability estimates for their crops.

  • The company claims that the system is capable of increasing yield up to 100x per unit area compared to traditional outdoor farms while using 90% less water. The system can also produce hemp as a new crop variety.

  • Via the CES the company has attracted business deals for its systems and is reportedly conducting Proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with leading players in Europe and the US.
