Private equity firm Mayfair buys adtech startup LoopMe for USD 120 million

M&A

 • Mayfair equity partners announced that it has acquired a 60% majority stake in LoopMe, a mobile adtech platform for USD 120 million. This values the firm at USD 200 million.

 • The investment is expected to support LoopMe’s market expansion in the US, which is its core market; drive international expansion to new markets including Japan; and support product development.

 • LoopMe specializes in mobile advertising, employs AI and machine learning to provide insights and dynamically optimize ad campaigns across mobile, connected TV (CTV), digital audio, and digital out of home (OOH) advertising. The firm's clients include Pepsi, Microsoft, Sony Pictures, and Warner Media. The firm achieved ~USD 100 million in gross revenues for 2021 and revenue growth of ~50% YoY for the past three years.

Analyst QuickTake: The significant investment made in LoopMe reflects the growing interest in adtech startups specializing in emerging digital advertising channels such as mobile display and CTV in line with changes in consumer preference. A case in point was the recent acquisition of Vi , a contextual video intelligence platform by Outbrain for USD 55 million.
