Soft Robotics, a provider of robotics gripping systems, has announced the launch of its new mGripAI technology, to automate complex food processing tasks previously done manually.
The new solution, which combines 3D vision and AI, provides traditional industrial robots with more accurate hand-eye coordination, resulting in safer production at higher volumes with reduced waste and lower operational costs.
mGripAI technology specifically targets large-scale protein processors that have been unable to keep up with the demand due to labor shortages and the pandemic, by automating bulk protein handling applications, which are difficult to handle manually.
mGripAI will be showcased by Soft Robotics at the International Production and Processing Expo held from 25 to 27 January. The technology will also be featured at the expo by partner companies including CHL Systems, Ensight Solutions, Fanuc, Harpak-Ulma, JLS Automation, Quest, and Staubli Robotics.
