New York-based Casana, a remote patient monitoring device developer, has raised USD 30 million in a Series B funding round led by Morningside with participation from Matrix Partners as well as existing investors General Catalyst and Outsiders Fund. This brings its total funding to USD 46 million.
The proceeds will be used to expedite Casana’s FDA submission for its Heart Seat—a smart toilet seat that captures patient health parameters including heart rate, blood pressure, blood oxygenation, and cardiac output. The company plans to obtain FDA approval and commercialize the product in 2022.
