Kaido, a UK-based team-building and wellness platform, has raised GBP 400,000 (approx. USD 535,000) in a seed funding round led by Longrow Capital Finance with participation from The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust’s SME Innovation Fund, West Midlands Academic Health Science Network, and Mercia. The round brings Kaido’s total funding to GBP 600,000 (approx. USD 800,000).
Founded in 2016, Kaido offers monthly digital team-building and wellness challenges, with prices starting from GBP 499 (approx. USD 670) per challenge for 10–49 employees. The challenges consist of daily tasks based on different wellbeing elements, including mindfulness and physical activity, with a mixture of team activities and friendly competition ingrained to facilitate employee engagement. In 2021, over 40,000 employees have participated in a Kaido challenge and its customers include Google, HSBC, and the Department of Health and Social Care.
The company also seeks to raise between GBP 4 to 7 million (approx. USD 5.4–9.4 million) by the end of 2022, depending on the progress during the year.
