Glooko acquires xbird to expand platform offerings

M&A

  • Glooko, a remote patient monitoring and diabetes care platform, has acquired German AI-backed medical company xbird to expand its platform service offerings. The financial terms of the transaction were not yet disclosed.

  • The integration of xbird’s Just In Time Adaptive Intervention (JITAI) technology will enhance Glooko’s advanced analytics capabilities and tools as well as expand its global reach across 7,500 clinics and more than one million users. 

  • xbird’s JITAI technology helps patients and providers identify health risks for people with diabetes by interpreting medical and behavioral data, providing tailored recommendations. The company leverages built-in sensors on smartphones, wearables, and medical devices to collect users’ medical and behavioral data to create personalized profiles with recommendations.
