GoCardless, an open banking infrastructure provider, has raised USD 312 million in Series G funding led by Permira with participation from BlackRock Private Equity Partners. The round values the company at USD 2.1 billion (more than double the USD 970 million valuation in December 2020) and brings its total funds raised to USD 529 million
The funds will be used for product and geographical expansions aimed at accelerating growth in the open banking sector.
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: The funding comes on the back of GoCardless expanding its operations through several partnerships. Last December, it expanded its presence in the US in partnership with Klarna , three months after it partnered with Gr4vy to enable the latter’s customers to accept open banking payments.</ul>
