Wyvern secures CAD 4 million in non-equity funding

Funding

  • Wyvern, a Canada-based satellite imagery startup, has received CAD 4 million (USD 3.15 million) in funding from the Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), a governmental organization providing funding for clean-tech startups.

  • The funding will support the launch of Wyvern’s first satellite “DragonEye” into space in the upcoming years. Wyvern will have access to the funding given it achieves the clean-tech goals set by the SDTC.

  • SDTC, along with partners including Xarvio Digital Farming (a BASF subsidiary) and Old College, has also set a three-year project, where it will test Wyvern’s hyperspectral imaging satellites at Old College’s 2,800 acre farm facility.
