Wyvern, a Canada-based satellite imagery startup, has received CAD 4 million (USD 3.15 million) in funding from the Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), a governmental organization providing funding for clean-tech startups.
The funding will support the launch of Wyvern’s first satellite “DragonEye” into space in the upcoming years. Wyvern will have access to the funding given it achieves the clean-tech goals set by the SDTC.
SDTC, along with partners including Xarvio Digital Farming (a BASF subsidiary) and Old College, has also set a three-year project, where it will test Wyvern’s hyperspectral imaging satellites at Old College’s 2,800 acre farm facility.
