Twine acquires speed networking solution Glimpse

M&A

  • Twine, a virtual events and remote team networking platform, has acquired Glimpse, a speed networking solution for virtual events, for an undisclosed amount in an all-stock deal. As part of the deal, Glimpse’s products and its team of three will move to Twine.

  • Glimpse, a participant in Y Combinator’s winter 2020 batch, matches virtual event attendees based on compatibility directly for networking purposes. The company has used Zoom’s Breakout Rooms APIs to build “Shuffle,” an integration that matches participants in Zoom meetings and events for speed networking. Glimpse currently has 150 customers and a waitlist of 700.

  • As per the agreement, the combined team is expected to release the “Twine for Zoom” app into the Zoom App Marketplace to streamline Twine’s existing networking process, which requires a handoff from Zoom when transferring participants out of a Zoom meeting to Twine. Twine for Zoom will feature automatic and tag-based matching, networking, and virtual watercooler tools that are relevant for multiple use cases.
