Great Learning, a subsidiary of online learning platform Byju’s, which provides online professional and higher education, acquired recruitment automation platform Superset for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition allows Great Learning to provide 1) access to up-skilling courses and job opportunities to students and young professionals; 2) an AI-based platform featuring placement preparation and skill development for students in colleges and universities; and 3) a talent acquisition platform featuring access to trained talent for corporate recruiters. Following the acquisition, the company reported that Superset will continue under the management of its Co-founders Naman Agrawal and Pranjal Goswami.
Founded in 2017, Superset offers proprietary process automation tools for campus placements and corporate recruitment. The company has automated placements for 500+ colleges and universities and provided placement opportunities to more than 2.7 million students across 15,500 colleges. Additionally, it has provided virtual recruitment processes for 4,200+ large-sized organizations.
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake: Great Learning was acquired by unicorn Byju’s (valued at USD 21 billion in December 2021) for USD 600 million in July 2021. It is Byju’s second most expensive acquisition, superseded by the acquisition of Aakash Institute for ~USD 1 billion in April 2021. Great Learning reportedly has a pipeline of acquisitions in play to execute its inorganic growth strategy.</ul>
