Farmshelf partners with Compass Group to supply compact vertical farming systems

Partnerships

  • Farmshelf, a New-York based vertical farming company that sells compact hydroponic growing systems, has partnered with Compass Group, the largest contract foodservice company in the UK, to supply its “Farmshelf” solution to Compass Group’s foodservice locations across the UK.

  • According to the partnership, Compass Group will use Farmshelf’s solution to grow up to 40 varieties of leafy greens, herbs, and edible flowers including kale, arugula, chives, and za’atar, serving customers in schools, businesses, healthcare facilities, and event venues.

  • By implementing Farmshelf’s solutions, Compass Group states that it can potentially reduce 15,000 pounds of food waste, 600,000 gallons in water usage per year, and eliminate single-use packaging.
