Breedr raises GBP 12 million in Series A funding; launches new financing product for farmers

Product updates

  • Breedr, a British startup offering an app-based livestock management and trading platform, has raised a total of GBP 12 million (~USD 15.8 million) in a Series A funding round led by Investbridge Capital. Existing investors LocalGlobe and Forward Partners also joined the round.

  • Breedr will use the funds to support the launch of its finance product “Breedr Cashflow,” which is a financing facility provided to ease livestock farmers' cash flow situations. Breedr Impact provides farmers access to credit, leveraging their cattle as collateral. The loans will be based on the value of the farmer’s livestock, which depends on factors such as the weight and health of the cattle. The loans are to be financed by Breedr and its investors.

  • The company also reported that it has plans to expand out of the UK into the Australian and US markets.
