Tarfin, a Turkish startup operating a cloud-based mobile app “Tarfin Mobil” that allows farmers to trade agricultural inputs while providing them with credit payment schemes, has announced launching its operations in Romania.
Via Tarfin Mobil, Romanian farmers will now have access to agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizer, and equipment at competitive prices and will also have the option to pay at harvest. Tarfin will initially focus on connecting farmers with distributors of agricultural inputs with plans to offer financing services to these farmers once it obtains authorization from the National Bank of Romania.
Tarfin highlighted Romania’s competitive performance in agriculture and rising fertilizer prices increasing farmers’ production costs as key drivers behind its expansion into the country.
