Class 101 acquired by Unleashed Brands

M&A

  • Class 101, an online hobby learning platform, announced that it was acquired by Unleashed Brands, a franchise that supports a portfolio of kid learning brands, for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition marks Unleashed Brands' entry into the teen market.

  • The acquisition strengthens Unleashed Brands' market reach and in turn, Class 101 expects to utilize the former's technology and resources to strengthen its product capabilities. It also complements Unleashed Brands’ strategy of providing a comprehensive product that caters to the early years of learning up until the exit to college or the professional world.

  • Class 101 reported that since its inception (in 1997), it has helped students receive a combined USD 638 million in college scholarships and expects to exceed USD 1 billion in 2022.

  • Unleashed Brands offers a portfolio of products that cater to three main areas of child development and growth: learn (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics); play (celebrate, escape, and connect); and grow (music and arts, martial arts, swimming, and sports). As of April 2022, it comprised four brands: Premier Martial Arts, Snapology, The Little Gym, and Urban Air.
