Proton Technologies expands agreement with Clear Hydrogen UK

Partnerships

  • Proton Technologies, a Canadian producer of clean hydrogen from abandoned oil fields through chemical reactions, has expanded its agreement with Clear Hydrogen UK (CHUK), a British hydrogen producer, to produce clean hydrogen, 250x larger in production capacity, compared to the previous agreement.

  • The extended agreement allows CHUK to produce 5,000 tons of hydrogen per day by utilizing Proton Technologies’ proprietary technology, at a licensed value of CAD 925 million (USD 726 million).

  • Under the agreement, 45% ownership of CHUK will be transferred to Proton Technologies. The company will provide technical support and governance guidance to CHUK. Moreover, two CHUK founders will join Proton’s board of directors.
