Akamai acquires content delivery assets from bankrupt Edgio

 <p>Edge Impulse, a firm specializing in the development and deployment of Machine Learning (ML) models on Edge devices, has struck a partnership with STMicroelectronics, a leading manufacturer of microcontrollers. The partnership is aimed at lending support to STMicroelectronics' STM32N6 microcontroller for use in Edge AI applications.</p>
 <p>Through this collaborative effort, developers can make use of the Artificial Intelligence tools provided by Edge Impulse. These tools work in sync with the STM32N6's Neural-ART Accelerator. According to claims by STMicroelectronics, this combination provides a marked performance improvement, to the tune of 600 times, over the previous models of STM32.</p>
 <p>The primary focus of this partnership is on applications in the fields of industrial automation and smart home technologies. The STM32N6 microcontroller is planned to be launched in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) scheduled for January 2025.</p>

 <p>Cologix, a colocation and interconnection services provider, has obtained land in Johnstown, Ohio for the development of a new AI-ready data center campus. The company's investment in this expansion is set to be over USD 7 billion.</p>
 <p>The upcoming campus is planned to contain eight data centers and have a total capacity of 800MW across 2 million square feet. The development aims to offer high-density, ultra-low latency, and sustainable infrastructure to hyperscalers and enterprises. The commencement of the first phase of development is set for 2025.</p>
 <p>Cologix's expansion will be added to the company's current collection of four data centers located in Ohio. These existing data centers have a combined footprint of 500,000 square feet and an 80MW of power capacity.</p>

 <p>Ubitium, a company that develops universal RISC-V microprocessors, has successfully raised USD 3.7 million in a seed funding round. This round was co-led by Runa Capital, Inflection, and KBC Focus Fund.</p>
 <p>The raised funds are set to be used for the development of prototypes and the preparation of customer development kits. In terms of future plans, the company anticipates the launch of a multi-project wafer prototype as well as a development kit. Furthermore, by 2026, Ubitium also expects to ship its first Edge computing chips.</p>
 <p>Ubitium was founded in 2024 and has since focused on the creation of universal RISC-V microprocessors. These have a workload-agnostic architecture, designed to minimize complexity and costs. The chips developed by Ubitium consolidate processing functions, which proves beneficial for high-performance computing applications.
