 <p>The pilot involves the use of four electric, autonomous shuttles, each capable of carrying up to 11 passengers. These shuttles will enhance the airport's existing shuttle service, ensuring regular and efficient transportation between airport gates.</p>

Beep launches ‘AutonomOS’ software to integrate with autonomous mobility service

Beep, an autonomous shuttle operator, is partnering with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) for a second project to launch an autonomous shuttle service at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte). The pilot project will run for six months and will involve operating shuttles on a 2.2-mile route with six stops, connecting different parts of the campus and integrating with the existing light rail system. This partnership comes after Beep's previous collaboration with NCDOT to launch an autonomous shuttle program in Cary's Fred G. Bond Metro Park.

Beep to launch autonomous shuttles at UNC Charlotte with North Carolina Department of Transportation

Beep, an autonomous shuttle operator, has partnered with UK-based autonomous vehicle software developer Oxa to integrate Oxa's self-driving software, Oxa Driver, into Beep's autonomous mobility solutions in the US. Oxa Driver will be used in various vehicle types operated by Beep, including electric shuttles. The initial deployment of the autonomous electric shuttles powered by Oxa's software will be at the SunTrax test facility in Florida.
