Bayer announced the pilot of a GenAI system developed in collaboration with Microsoft and Ernst & Young to answer questions about agronomy, farm management, and Bayer agricultural products.
Bayer claims to have used proprietary agronomic data to train a large language model (LLM) with years of internal data, insights from thousands of trials in its extensive trial network, and the aggregated experience of Bayer agronomists worldwide.
Bayer plans to expand the pilot to selected agronomists and farmers later this year, following the productivity improvements for Bayer teams in the US. In addition, the company is advancing a separate GenAI prototype that allows users to query their own farm data directly.
