 <p>CVS, a drugstore giant, has entered into a definitive agreement to buy primary care provider, Oak Street, in a cash deal worth USD 10.6 billion, equating to USD 39 per share. The acquisition, initially reported by Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal, will be financed from CVS's existing resources and financing capacity. The deal is anticipated to finalize in 2023, awaiting approval.&nbsp;</p>
 <p>The acquisition will enable CVS Health to extend its portfolio to include a value-driven primary care platform, and it forecasts an expansion of its adjusted operating profit by 200bps in the future. Upon the deal's closure, Oak Street Health will be incorporated into CVS Health’s Health Care Delivery company and maintain regular operations under the current CEO, Mike Pykosz.&nbsp;</p>
 <p>Future plans comprise Oak Street Health operating over 300 medical centers (up from the current 169) by 2026, which will contribute USD 7 million to its adjusted EBITDA upon maturity and realize a synergy saving of over USD 500 million over an unspecified period. Post-acquisition, CVS predicts its adjusted EPS will range between USD 8.7–8.9 in 2023, USD 9.0 in 2024, and reach USD 10.0 in 2025.</p>
