CREEK & RIVER subsidiary Shiftall has announced the Meganex Superlight 8K, a new lightweight PC VR headset. The SteamVR-compatible device is priced at USD 1,900, excluding base stations and controllers, and is expected to ship between February and March 2025.
The Meganex Superlight 8K features a 10-bit micro OLED display with a resolution of 3,552 x 3,840 pixels per eye, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and HDR playback support. It includes dual microphones, electrically adjustable IPD, glasses-free diopter adjustment, and a flip-up visor mechanism.
Shiftall claims the headset offers approximately 27 million pixels across both eyes, surpassing the resolution of Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3. The visor weighs less than 185 grams, making it a lightweight option in the VR headset market.
