Phenix Label launches tear-away RFID label for liquid packaging

Product updates

  • Phenix Label, a family-owned printing business specializing in label and packaging solutions, has introduced a patent-pending recyclable packaging design featuring a tear-away radio-frequency identification (RFID) label tab for liquid-filled bottles. The design incorporates Tageos EOS-261 M730 RFID inlay.

  • The new packaging design places the RAIN RFID inlay above liquid fill levels to improve scanning reliability. The tear-away tab provides additional space for brand marketing and allows consumers to remove the RFID portion for recycling easily. The design suits automotive, lawn, garden, and health and beauty products.

  • According to Phenix Label, this innovation resolves the challenge of RFID scanning in liquid-filled bottles, which previously had poor data transmission due to liquid conductivity. The solution helps retail brands comply with RFID scanning requirements from major retailers like Target and Walmart while improving inventory tracking and sustainability.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Phenix Label’s tear-away RFID label could streamline inventory management by enhancing scanning accuracy for liquid-filled packaging. This innovation is expected to reduce errors and improve efficiency in tracking and stocking such items.
