OpenStack releases Dalmatian version with AI and security upgrades

  • Key updates include improved GPU instance reservation, better support for hardware accelerators, enhanced security measures, and user experience improvements to ease migration from VMware.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The release of OpenStack version 30 builds on its rising popularity as a VMware alternative. Many enterprises have been migrating from VMware since Broadcom's acquisition and the changes in pricing. OpenStack’s earlier April 2024 update , version 29 named "Caracal," introduced key features like vGPU live migration, enhanced security with role-based access controls, and improved networking for HPC workloads.
