PTx Trimble, a joint venture between AGCO and Trimble, has launched WM-FieldForm, a next-generation water management solution for land forming, grading, leveling, and terracing projects. The system uses a GFX-1260 display and NAV-900 guidance controller to help farmers control field water movement.
The company reports that the system includes the WM-Survey II app for topographic surveys, WM-Form design software for drainage designs, and Multiplane technology for defining slopes. It features dirt-balancing algorithms, RTK measurements, and field surface drainage designs and integrates with existing farm equipment through a retrofit-first approach.
The system helps farmers form and maintain fields independently, minimize topsoil disturbances, and adopt sustainable farming practices. The company claims farmers can expect improved yield performance and cost savings in the first year through more effective water use in areas with excess moisture or dry climates.
Analyst QuickTake: In September 2024 , PTx Trimble introduced OutRun, an autonomous retrofit grain cart solution it claims is cost-effective, easy to install, and compatible with mixed fleets. The latest water management system adds to the company’s expanding portfolio of smart ag solutions.
