 <p>Fingerprint Cards AB, a biometric sensor and software provider, is collaborating with Valid, a payment technology provider and secure solutions integrator, to create a biometric payment card for Brazil. Valid manufactures the card, which incorporates Fingerprints' second-gen T-Shape (T2) sensor module and software platform. Both companies assert compliance with Brazil's National Monetary Council's regulations.</p>

 <p>Mastercard, in collaboration with Empik (a Polish retail chain), PayEye (a biometric payment solution provider), and Planet Pay (a payment service provider), has launched a biometric checkout technology "Pay by Your Glance". This technology allows users in Poland to authenticate payments through facial recognition.</p>
 <p>The technology necessitates users to register their facial recognition data, payment details, and other required information at the store for transaction completion. This involves users looking into a camera at the payment terminal.</p>
 <p>Starting from June 10, this solution will be piloted in five Empik locations across Poland.</p>

 <p>Mastercard is partnering with Ingenico, Fujitsu Frontech, Fulcrum Biometrics, and Scanntech to introduce an in-store palm-recognition-based payment authentication system at Red Expres in Uruguay. This collaboration combines the expertise of payment services, biometrics identification, and intelligence platforms.</p>
 <p>Shoppers at Red Expres can sign up their personal data, payment details, and biometrics in-store and pay for items by putting their hand over a sensor at the checkout terminal. This allows them to link their palm biometrics to their payment card for authentication, improving speed and security of transactions.</p>

 <p>Visa has unveiled the Visa Payment Passkey Service, enabling customers to approve online payments through a biometric scan on their device. The Service utilizes the Fast Identity Online (FIDO) server from Visa. Moreover, it works on a federated model, permitting retailers to incorporate the Visa Payment Passkey Service into their checkout process without the need for personal servers.</p>
 <p>This solution lets customers utilize the same biometric systems they use to unlock their devices for authorizing online Visa payments. After a one-time enrollment at checkout, users can continue to enrol via their banking apps in the future.</p>

<p>IDEX Biometrics is partnering with a South Asian smart card manufacturer to globally distribute smart cards, mainly in Asia. The aim is to have the IDEX Pay card launched and commercialized by 2024 end.</p>

IDEX Biometrics partners with South Asian smart card manufacturer to launch biometric payment cards

 <p>OVE, a provider of biometric payment services, is collaborating with Fingerprint Cards (FPC) to develop a prototype titled "Touch and Go." This is a fingerprint sensor designed for biometric payments in retail settings.</p>
 <p>Thanks to the partnership, the payment solution can make use of FPC's technology for facilitating mobile payments across many venues such as bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and gas stations. The solution can safely store millions of fingerprint hashes in the cloud while connecting multiple account types for payments to single fingerprints. This system integrates with retailers' point-of-sale systems using Wi-Fi.</p>
 <p>In a bid to aid its commercialisation, OVE is currently running a seed funding round which is predicted to wrap up by the close of 2024.</p>
 <p>The OVE Touch and Go service combines identity and payment services, capitalising on biometric technology to ensure secure, convenient transactions. The service enables users to connect multiple payment methods, like credit cards and bank accounts, to each individual fingerprint.&nbsp;</p>

The cards, currently in the final stages of lamination and printing, feature an integrated live fingerprint scanner. This scanner can distinguish between actual fingerprints and counterfeit foil prints. The card also has an inbuilt rechargeable battery, making it compatible with credit card readers and ATMs.</p>

 <p>PayByFace, a provider of a facial recognition-based POS terminal and loyalty services, has announced plans to expand into various European countries - the Netherlands, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Romania, and Bulgaria.</p>
 <p>It is reported that the company has GDPR-compliance and it has structured its platform on the architecture reference framework for the EU digital identity Wallet reference. This implementation is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.</p>
