Oishii secures USD 15 million to build new facility in Philipsburg

Funding

  • Oishii, a vertical farming company specializing in Japanese Omakase strawberries, has secured a USD 15 million loan from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

  • The funding will be used to transform a vacant building in Phillipsburg into an energy-conserving production facility housing a high-tech indoor vertical farming operation. The facility will handle harvesting, packaging, and distributing produce and is anticipated to help reduce the company’s annual operation costs by USD 150,000 and create 45 new jobs.
