Trigo partners with REWE Group to deploy computer vision-based shopping at self-checkout terminals

Partnerships

  • Trigo, an Israel-based computer vision startup, has partnered with REWE Group, a German retail chain, to deploy a computer vision-powered, hybrid autonomous store in Düsseldorf, Germany, named “REWE Pick&Go.”

  • The store offers customers four checkout options, including 1) mobile app-based cashierless payments; 2) a self-checkout terminal to manually scan purchases; 3) cashier payments; or 4) computer vision-powered self-checkout terminals that track items picked and maintain a virtual shopping cart of items picked up by customers, eliminating the need to manually scan items.

  • REWE Group also has computer vision-powered checkout options at a Berlin-based location with plans to launch a Pick&Go store in Munich. The company also plans to integrate the virtual shopping cart technology with its "Pick&Go" mobile checkout solution to enable faster mobile-based checkouts.
