Jointly headquartered in the US and the UK, Corsight AI provides a facial recognition product named “Fortify,” targeting the law enforcement, aviation, retail, and entertainment industries. The company has developed proprietary technology that is capable of conducting facial searches for masked faces, at extreme angles, for different ethnicities without racial bias, and matching historical images dating up to 30 years, claims the company. Fortify also provides alerts from live video streams, forensic analytics (analyzing long videos within a few minutes), and people counting features. The product is offered as software development kits (SDKs) and application programming interfaces (APIs) that can be integrated with existing security systems. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company has also developed thermal detection technology (launched in May 2020) that can be used as an add-on service.
In March 2021, Corsight announced plans to enter the Asia Pacific region, including Singapore, India, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and South Korea. In this regard, the company has appointed William Tan and Amit Sarkar to accelerate regional growth by tapping into increasing demand for facial recognition technology in the region. Furthermore, in May 2021, the company entered a partnership with Netpoleon, a value-added distributor of network and cybersecurity products based in Singapore, to make Corsight’s products more accessible in the Asia region focusing on Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and India. In August 2021, the company entered a tripartite partnership with the Indian government agency Assam Electronics Development Corporation Limited (AMTRON)] and its exclusive strategic partner for emerging technologies I-Sec to establish a facial recognition technology development and services portfolio at the Tech City in Guwahati. Corsight was ranked top in the 2022 July facial recognition vendor test (FRVT) in the 1:1 verification category conducted by the National Institute of Standards (NIST) by improving the algorithm to reduce discrimination and racial bias by identifying people from different demographic groups (people of color and white people) with equal accuracy.
