Appy Pie

Appy Pie is a no-code mobile app development platform that allows users to create advanced applications through a drag-and-drop function. The company launched Appy Pie Design in August 2020 as a cloud-based design platform targeted for beginners.

In May 2022, Appy Pie, launched the open beta of its voice-driven no-code “text-to-app” solution that enables users to build mobile apps using a smartphone or voice-activated technology such as Amazon Alexa. The technology is built on a MEAN stack that includes a patent-pending drag-and-drop interface and uses natural language processing (NLP) to generate code based on voice inputs. 

The platform went on to release “Appy Pie Chatbot,” a no-code drag-and-drop chatbot building tool for enterprises, in October. Users can create chatbots for a variety of use cases, including customer support, lead generation, surveys, marketing, booking, promotion, and human resources. The solution leverages NLP and provides additional features such as pre-built chatbot templates, analytics tools, and integrations with third-party apps. In February 2023, Appy Pie incorporated OpenAI's GPT-3 AI technology into its platform to enhance its functionality and add new features. The new solution leverages GPT-3 technology to understand more complicated requests, interpret user intent, and offer more accurate responses.

In July 2023, Appy Pie launched enhanced features for its AI website builder to enable businesses to generate customized websites that include fitting content, visuals, and design via text or voice prompts.

In July 2024, the company acquired Appsmakerstore.com, a no-code mobile app building platform, for an undisclosed sum. In the same month, Appy Pie announced the launch of AI Voice Assistant to enable businesses to develop and deploy voice-activated AI agents to automate customer service processes.

Key customers and partnerships

As of May 2022, Appy Pie had more than 10 million clients and enabled the production of more than 5,000 apps a month. Its large enterprise clients include Nike, NHS, Accenture, Home Depot, and Deloitte. 

In April 2024, the company partnered with Identity Digital, a domain name solutions provider, to enable its customers to use its domains as part of Appy Pie's premium plans.
