Bicycle Health

Bicycle Health provides personalized treatment plans that are delivered online via its mobile app. The company offers Medication for Addiction Treatment using Suboxone to reduce opioid cravings. Services provided by Bicycle include access to the patient’s care team, same-day prescription refills, peer support groups, psychotherapy, and in-home diagnostic testing. The company’s service offering was available in more than 20 US states as of May 2021. 

Key customers and partnerships

In April 2022 the company entered into an agreement with Marvin , a startup offering personalized mental health support to clinicians, to provide its opioid use disorder treatment to healthcare professionals.

In August 2022, the company partnered with emergency telehealth and ambulance transport healthcare optimizer Tele 911 .The partnership will allow a licensed social worker responding to 911 calls from patients who are suffering from overdose or other opioid-related symptoms to refer them to Bicycle Health for long-term care. 

In August 2022, the company partnered with Evernorth, the health services arm of Cigna , to expand access to virtual opioid use disorder treatment. Through the partnership, Bicycle Health treatment options were made available on Evernoth’s behavioral health network.

In March 2023, the company partnered with Wellpath, a provider of correctional and behavioral healthcare services, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons to provide virtual opioid use disorder treatment to incarcerated individuals. Initially, Bicycle Health will provide its services to individuals in residential reentry centers (RRCs) across 42 states, with plans to expand to other states in the future.

Funding and financials

In September 2022, Bicycle Health received a USD 5 million extension to its June 2022 Series B funding round of USD 50 million. The funds came from Cobalt Ventures and were set aside for accelerating the expansion of Bicycle Health’s telehealth opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment.
