UpsideHoM is a tech-enabled senior living solution provider co-founded by Jake Rothstein, the co-founder of the leading elderly care service platform Papa. UpsideHoM creates apartment communities for seniors by offering concierge services, housekeeping, maintenance, unified billing, and companion visits via a partnership with Papa. The company also offers add-on services and amenities such as grocery delivery, accompanied transportation, and fitness programs.
UpsideHoM offers co-living facilities and individual outlets based on client preference. The company buys or leases units in existing buildings and subleases them to individual renters at different price points starting at USD 1,200 per room per month. The company claims that its offering is up to 70% cheaper compared with rival independent senior living communities. As of July 2021, the company had living units in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, as well as Tampa, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Raleigh.
In July 2021, the company raised USD 2.25 million in a seed funding round co-led by Triple Impact Capital and Freestyle Capital to develop novel technology to offer additional services such as healthcare, transportation, roommate matching, and community events. Since relaunching in January 2021, UpsideHoM claims to have recorded a 1,000% YoY increase in revenue and bookings in H1 2021.
