Netherlands-based QuiX is a commercial provider of quantum photonic processors that are used in light-based quantum computers. The processors are based on TriPleX technology, which uses stoichiometric Si3N4 (a silicon and nitrogen compound) waveguides and can operate at room temperature. QuiX offers both integrated photonic processors and bespoke integrated devices to conduct quantum photonics experiments.
Founded in 2019, the company introduced its large-scale quantum photonic processor in December 2020, which it claims to be the largest in the world.
Key customers and partnerships
In September 2022, QuiX entered a four-year collaboration with DLR’s Quantum Computing Initiative framework to develop eight-qubit and 64-qubit universal quantum computers. In May 2023, the company partnered with QMware to develop a fully integrated hybrid quantum-classical platform.
Funding and financials
In September 2022, the company secured EUR 14 million (USD 14 million) from the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luftund Raumfahrt; DLR) to deliver photonics-based universal quantum computers.
