German startup bao (be-as-one) offers an automated conversational intelligence platform that leverages AI to generate “next-best actions” for sales agents using real-time analysis of past conversations. bao does not record complete conversations in compliance with EU privacy regulations including GDPR. The platform’s features include sales scripts and response recommendations. bao claims that, by using its software, sales teams can increase conversion rates by 20%. As of January 2022, bao’s users include Barmenia, Simpleshow, Cyberport, Ocean.io and Kinexon.
In March 2021, bao overhauled its platform and relaunched its brand with a focus on improving user experience (UX), greater use of AI, and deepening its integration with leading CRM systems including Salesforce, Hubspot and Zoho.
bao raised EUR 2.5 million (~USD 3.0 million) in a Seed funding round led by Peak (Amsterdam-based VC investor), with participation from BayBG and a group of angel investors in August 2021.
