Lightspin provides a platform for enterprises to protect their cloud and container environments. The platform is agentless and scans a company’s cloud assets to identify all relationships, detect misconfigurations, map potential attack paths, and provide remediation actions. Lightspin uses a patented graph-based approach to map relationships and identify security risks, which is combined with external information from third-party threat intelligence providers, and predictive algorithms to obtain a full picture of critical items and potential attack vectors across an organization’s cloud environment.
Lightspin’s platform also integrates with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, and GitLab to help developers identify security issues in cloud-native applications during the build stage.
In March 2023 , networking solutions provider CISCO, announced its intent to acquire Lightspin in a deal that was estimated to be in the range of USD 200 million–250 million.
In June 2021, Lightspin raised USD 16 million in a Series A funding round led by Dell Technologies Capital for product development and tripling its workforce from 20 to around 60 individuals.
