Coco Robotics (formerly Cyan Robotics) develops a remote-controlled last-mile delivery droid. Its latest version of the droid “COCO 1,” comes with a carrying capacity to hold up to four grocery bags and can travel a radius of up to three miles. The unit is also equipped with GPS, multiple cameras and sensors to assist remote pilots, and has a two-way microphone to interact with pedestrians.
As of August 2024, the company had a fleet of over 1,000 droids, and had completed over 300,000 deliveries. The company had operations in Los Angeles (California), Austin, Dallas, Houston (Texas), Miami (Florida), and Finland.
Key customers and partnerships
As of August 2024, Coco Robotics’ partnering restaurants included Jinya Ramen Bar, Goop Kitchen, DK’s Donuts, Main Chick Hot Chicken, Kitchen United Mix, Sweefin, Alfalfa, Lulubowls, Kreation Organic, TSUJITA Annex, Colony, and Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery. It also partnered with Uber Eats to offer deliveries for the latter’s customers starting in Los Angeles in August 2024.
The company’s product partnerships include 1) DriveU.auto to integrate the latter’s teleoperation and connectivity platform into its droids (January 2022); and 2) micro-mobility hardware manufacturer Segway, to manufacture the droids (December 2021).
