Strands collects hair samples from customers through an at-home testing kit to offer personalized shampoo and conditioner based on individual hair conditions. The testing kit includes a scalp testing strip, samples of fragrances to choose from, and a brush to collect hair samples. The collected samples are mailed back to the Strands Lab to be analyzed for cuticle condition, hair texture, surface protein levels, and scalp sebum levels. The analysis is conducted using advanced microscopic imaging and molecular analysis and matched by Strands’ proprietary algorithm to identify the optimal ingredients to formulate a customized shampoo and conditioner kit. The products are then shipped to the customer along with a detailed hair analysis report.
