Custom hair care brand Strands launches at Walmart

Product updates

 • Strands, a developer of personalized hair care products, has announced the launch of its products at Walmart Stores.

 • The hair test which was previously available online, will be available at 2,500 Walmart stores from the beginning of next month. Customers can take this test to analyze hair texture, scalp type, cuticle condition, impact of environmental conditions, and match the results with three targeted doses to formulate a personalized hair care routine.

 • According to industry estimates, by launching at Walmart Strands could potentially increase its revenue by around USD 15 million in a year in the market.

Analyst QuickTake: With this launch, Strands joins its competitors eSalon which launched at SHOWFIELDS Store (New York) in May and Function of Beauty which launched its products at Target stores to provide a better experience to its customers. These D2C brands are now seen moving towards physical sales channels to offer personalized products. Pure Culture Beauty, another D2C brand that provides custom skincare products, also partnered with Target earlier this year to make its products available in Target stores as well as on the website.
