Campfire is the developer of a holographic collaboration platform that can be accessed across multiple platforms, including desktop, mobile, and the Campfire AR headset. The platform is primarily used for communication related to 3D design flows, allowing hybrid teams to collaborate using 3D models and scans to benefit from the convenience of modern 2D collaboration tools. Users can experience high-quality holograms during meetings that require face-to-face communication, and collaborators can interact and annotate content during meetings or offline. The platform, built using 70 patents, eliminates the need for travel, shipping, and potential delays associated with inefficient 2D communication methods. Campfire expanded accessibility of its platform to the Meta Quest 3 in November 2023, allowing it to leverage the full-color passthrough feature of the headset to enhance remote collaboration. Further, the company announced that it would debut its app on the Apple Vision Pro in the fall of 2024.

Campfire provides the Campfire Starter Kit, which combines hardware and software, allowing companies to set up and begin usage within an hour. The kit includes two Campfire Headsets, Packs, and Consoles, five enterprise user licenses, and one Studio Console. As of May 2023, the kit was available in the US, the UK, and the EU. The Campfire AR headset developed by the company has a weight of 500 grams and provides a diagonal field of view (FOV) of 92°. It is certified to be compatible with Dell Precision Workstations, allowing for easy plug-and-play functionality using Thunderbolt-3.

The headset is exclusively available in the Campsite Starter Kit and when used in conjunction with the Campfire Pack, it is able to use an iPhone as a controller. For reliable shared holograms in office, meeting, and collaboration spaces, the headset can be used with either the Campfire Console or the Studio Console.

The company operates a freemium model, with paid subscriptions for enterprises costing USD 125 per month, per user. Additionally, the company’s Campfire Starter Kit, which includes an XR headset, costs USD 15,000 annually.

Key customers and partnerships

Key customers using the platform include Collins Aerospace. Additionally, the company noted that hundreds of companies applied for its Early Access Program, which included enterprises from the aerospace, automotive, healthcare, retail, and apparel industries.
