UK-based Doccla provides remote patient monitoring solutions to UK-based hospitals enabling them to offer “virtual wards” to patients diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other heart health-related conditions. The company’s solution includes both a monitoring platform, EHR connectivity, and the integration of connected devices. Doccla also handles tasks such as software integration, logistics, and customer support.
As of September 2022, the company works with several NHS trusts across the UK and the company claims its platform is present in 20% of all Integrated Care Systems (ICS) in the UK.
In August 2023, the company acquired Denmark-based remote patient monitoring solution OpenTeleHealth for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition was carried out to help Doccla expand its operations internationally; the company now operates in 13 countries across Europe and Asia. Through the acquisition, OpenTeleHealth’s workforce became a part of Doccla’s team, along with its technology and clients. Doccla—which previously incorporated OpenTeleHealth’s technology into its offerings—continued to use this technology to cover almost 10,000 patient lives.
