Verdox is an electrochemical carbon capture solutions provider. The company’s proprietary ESA technology was developed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) directly from the atmosphere as well as industrial sources, providing up to 70% energy savings compared to traditional methods. The patented electrochemical process operates on renewable electricity. The company expects to scale up its technology to capture CO2 at a cost of USD 50 per ton or less.
Key customers and partnerships
Verdox formed a strategic partnership with Norsk Hydro to tackle emissions from aluminum production. This partnership aims to integrate Verdox's technology into Hydro's processes, capturing CO₂ at low concentrations, which is critical for industries, like aluminum, in which emissions are hard to abate.
