Mintable is an online marketplace to buy and sell artwork, music, PDFs, and images as NFTs. Creators can promote their NFT listings and stores with ads on the platform priced between USD 15-100. Creators are also offered custom branded store/listing packages starting at USD 100. Mintable is an NFT DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) and claims to be the world’s first platform governed by NFTs. Every user owns a voting NFT that provides their voting power, enabling the user to control the platform’s future and features. Voting power is earned directly through the buying and selling of NFTs on the platform as well as buying votes at a starting rate of 0.005 ETH per vote.
The platform takes a transaction fee of 2.5% on normal items (items that are minted via a blockchain transaction), 5% on gasless items (items that have been minted without any blockchain transaction), and 10% on “printable series” (creating NFTs that remain unminted until purchased).
Mintable partnered with Geenee, a computer vision-based web-based augmented reality (WebAR) platform (September 2021). Geenee is a no-code platform that enables creators to build and publish WebAR experiences through the mobile browser; no app required. Geenee users can publish AR to the web in a few minutes via Geenee’s no-code, drag-and-drop WebAR Builder, and they can monetize their AR creations by minting them as NFTs for sale on the Mintable marketplace going forward. The buyer of each NFT will have ownership rights of the 3D digital asset and be able to display and interact with it in AR. Buyers can contact @geenee on Mintable to arrange for delivery of the accompanying physical goods.
The company raised an undisclosed amount in a March 2021 seed funding round led by Mark Cuban.
