Tissue Regeneration Systems (TRS) was an early-stage medical device company headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan. It commercialized skeletal reconstruction and bone regeneration technology based on research performed at the University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin. In April 2017, DePuy Synthes Products, Inc., a part of Johnson & Johnson, acquired TRS's 3D printing technologies to create patient-specific, bioresorbable implants with a mineral coating designed to support bone healing. These implants aimed to treat patients with orthopedic and craniomaxillofacial deformities and injuries. The acquisition brought innovative technology that enabled DePuy Synthes to develop personalized healthcare solutions in its Trauma platform, aligning with the company's focus on delivering groundbreaking innovations to improve patient outcomes.
